Still patch coverage after the recent storm
Posted on 12/31/2010 by: Anonymous

We used ski club discount tickets to go evening skiing for the first time at Thunder Ridge. The mountain was busy at 4pm with long lift lines, but really started emptying out by 5:00pm as the day pass holders headed home. Staff were all friendly and courteous (well done, even in spite of some testosterone-fueled loudmouth snowboarders in the lift lines!). Not a lot of trails open, despite the recent storm, and this was further reduced once the race teams started their training. Many wind blown areas had no coverage at all, and there was no apparent activity to make snow (possibly due to temps in the 30s). I'd probably only come back later in the season when 100% of terrain was open and they'd had a fresh snowfall. Watch out for thieves - someone stole a set of our poles. Next time we need to get a Ski Key for their racks near the lodge.
