Teacup Nordic xc skiing
Posted on 03/03/2008 by: s schneider

XC skiers will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful place to ski anywhere in North America. Spectacular Doug Firs towering 50 to 80 feet line nearly every trail, with incredible views of Mt Hood, Oregon's highest peak, just 5 miles and 7000 vertical feet above the 4000 foot trails at Teacup. Relax on gently rolling Teatime trail, experience some thrills on the 3 moderately steep hills of Mountain View, and hit speeds of 25 to 30 mph on the mile long "screamer" downhill. Don't worry - there are no turns on the hill - it can be done in the well set tracks, and the run out which is a gentle uphill will bring you to an easy stop! Trails are groomed 3 times a week. A lovely 24 x 40 foot cabin with efficient wood stove welcomes visitors weekends. With annual snowfall exceeding 350 inches - visitors can usually expect good skiing - both striding and skating at Teacup from Mid - November until the end of March!
