Lutsen Mountains is the largest ski area in the Midwest. There are 4 mountains. The skiable vertical drop is 1,088 feet. There are 87 runs spread over more than 1,000 acres of forest. The are three on-mountain resorts and another dozen along the shores of Lake Superior.

Dining Around Lutsen Mountains
There are more than half a dozen great restaurants on the mountain and at resorts along the shore of Lake Superior. Take your pick from elegant dining rooms to casual bistros and everything in between.
Bars and Nightlife Around Lutsen Mountains
Papa Charlie's is the place to go for nightlife and music. Top regional and national acts are common at Papa Charlie's stage in the winter with music ranging from jazz to rock and roll. Papa Charlie's also features local solo guitarists and other entertainment.
Lutsen Mountains Lodging, Hotels, and Condos
There are two on-mountain resorts offering ski-in/ski-out convenience, Caribou Highlands and Eagle Ridge Resort (www.eagleridgeatlutsen.com). Half a dozen other quality resorts and hotels are located within a few minutes of the ski area, many of which are on the shores of Lake Superior.
