About Telluride

Dressed in pure white snow, the San Juan Mountain’s jagged 13 and 14,000 foot peaks jut powerfully into a crisp, clear and serene turquoise sky, setting the stage for the finest skiing in the West. Enjoy wide open slopes virtually free of lift lines on the expansive and awe inspiring terrain whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skier. Effortlessly explore two towns equally tall on charm that are connected by a free and magical gondola. At the foot of the mountain lies Telluride, a jewel box town, virtually unchanged since its 19th century mining days and nestled in a pristine box canyon. The other side of the ski resort boasts Mountain Village, a casually sophisticated European inspired village bustling with upscale lodging, dining, and shopping. Expect to be embraced by a warm and spirited place like no other; this is a place that touches your soul.

What's New This Season at Telluride

Backcountry enthusiasts eagerly await the opening of Telluride’s new Revelation Bowl and Lift. With over 50 new acres of skiing, Revelation Bowl compliments the 2008's newly opened skiing in Black Iron Bowl, Palmyra Peak and Gold Hills 6-10.

Descending into the Revelation Bowl, skiers and riders will better understand the definition of ‘revelation’ as the stunning scenery will leave them breathless without exception. With each turn down the 800 vertical feet, the massive 2,000-foot rock wall on the opposite side of the drainage grows larger, reaching up to 13,472 foot La Junta Peak and 13,555 foot Wasatch Mountain. To the skier’s right, 13,446 foot San Joaquin Ridge keeps watch over the entire Bear Creek Basin, and to the skier’s left the town of Telluride peeks out 3,000 feet below, overlooked by the San Sophia range.
