| Not leaving the record breaking to the Olympic athletes, Whistler Blackcomb’s PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola opened its doors on December 2008, setting three world records while providing an unmatched experience and limitless possibilities for winter and summer resort guests. The Gondola offers breathtaking views of the area over the course of its 11-minute trip and reaches a record-breaking elevation of 1,427 feet over Fitzsimmons Creek.
the Fitzsimmons Creek Renewable Energy Project offsets the total annual energy consumption at Whistler Blackcomb. The Fitzsimmons Creek Renewable Energy Project will produce 33 gigawatt hours per year - the equivalent amount of energy required to power the ski resort’s winter and summer operations including 37 lifts, 17 restaurants, 270 snow guns and countless other buildings and services. |
