unique place at any season
Posted on 11/21/2009 by: Anonymous

This is a unique place - it's not a purpose-built resort, but a historic, real-life village that doesn't close down in the off-season. As such, there's more than just the usual assembly of hotels, restaurants and ski rental places. You can even take your non-skiing mother along and she'll find something to do here. On the down side, the place is rather pricey, the result of its unique position under the iconic Matterhorn and the hundred year old reputation as a holiday destination. Customer service may feel not so up to the mark for American clients [people don't smile as much], but is professional and efficient. I marked the food down because personally I don't appreciate the cheese in almost every dish on the menu; but otherwise [for those into cheese] the rating would be top mark too. Skiing is excellent, and for snow it is almost always a safe bet. - Have fun!
