Best Place Around! 01/08/2013 by: Justin Dube I've been going to Red Mountain since elementary school and at 22 years old it has yet to let me down. It has everything from a bunny hill to backcountry with a lot to offer in between. Whether you ride Red, Silverload, or Motherload (on Granite), you will be able to find groomers, moguls, tree runs, and open fields for when the powder's deep! The staff throughout the years have always been super friendly and helpful, adding to this awesome experience. There are 2 lodges that offer a good selection of hot and cold meals. Paradise Lodge is located on top of Granite at the Paradise chair, making it nice for those who don't want to ride all the way to the bottom to fill their bellies. The base lodge has a popular bar above it called "Rafters" that get's very busy near and after the chairs close. If given the choice, you'd find me at Red Mountain Resort instead of a big name resort any day of the week!

I'm going back for 2nds! 12/27/2012 by: Dave K Red is an a great little secret! I chose Red for a 1 month stay - I was seeking somewhere to push my off-piste skills - Red was perfect and way surpassed my expectations. On paper the resort is small ,in reality it is bloody brilliant. Don't come for the pisted runs (all 12 of them, lol), come for the trees and the steeps - the glading is superb and the resort packs in the features in such a small space you'll be able to map the place out in little time to get a sense of what is there, but never ski the same line twice. The facilities are pretty basic, and yes the lifts are slow, but if you are ok with a slightly "down home" experience you'll have a great time.

Love the sunshine 03/10/2008 by: Anonymous There have been alot of sunny days lately. This really softens the snow up for great carving runs.

Fabulous hidden gem 02/07/2008 by: Rahul This place is amazing! fabulous steeps, amazing tree skiing.. among the best Ive been to in N. America. The mountain setup makes it impossible to ever get lost. Any way you go, you end up back on the trail to the lodge. Almost every person you meet on the mountain, really know what they are doing.. And stay away from the marked trails.. thats not what this place is about.. Find your own pillow lines in the trees. Good for advanced, expert skiers. The town is charming, a few buildings, everyone knows each other and everyones there for one reason and one reason alone. The snow.

freindliest place to ski 01/30/2007 by: Lynette Finstad Friendliest people around, nice small town feel but big resort conditions and terrain, one of the best places in 35 years of skiing!!!

Great Steeps! 01/30/2003 by: Anonymous Might be the best overall expert ski area on the continent. The lifts are slow (thankfully - so you can rest on the way up), the runs are simply as steep as anything on the continent. This is skiing as it was meant to be. Do not go here to obtain a coddled "Vail-type" experience. You will be sorely disappointed. If, however, you are one of those who likes their skiing raw and untamed, and are willing to forego the tailored North American resort experience (you will be too thrashed to spend much time doing anything but raging at Red anyway), then this is the place for you. If there is a better, steeper ski area on this continent, I have yet to find it.
