Old School Mountain
Posted on 01/21/2013 by: Sheryl Labrecque

Lodge was small and overcrowded, bad layout of tables. People were in everyone's way and there was not enough place to change or store bags. We didnt get to see the new area but the old area is OLD. Chairlifts are probably original and slow. I'm not in any rush to go back to Stowe, plenty of nicer resorts. Expect to be aggrevated in the lodge there's no room to move and if your lucky to get a seat you'll be squished between tables.

We loved Stowe in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Can't wait to return this year!

EXSPENSIVE
Posted on 01/05/2011 by: Anonymous

Great sking classic new england and an awesome area, but it is to ritzy for me. The price or a ticket is, I think the most exspenisve in the east. The skiing is great but it's not so far above the competition that they shoudl be priced so high. Only skiing I am likely to do here is if I were to skin up. You can practically ski nearby Mad River twice for the price of one day at Stowe. Lodging inthe area is very exspenisve. Nearby attraction of the ben and Jerry's factory is a must stop for anyone who like ice cream, but go midweek whenthe factory is actually running.

Great place for families ofr couples

THe upgrades they did to the mountain in the last five years are tremendous. If you are looking for a great day without lines ski Spruce Peak on the weekends. The Blues are long enough to give you a good workout if you don't ski regularly but will let you keep tabs on small children in ski school. The new hotel is gorgeous. It looks like Disney from the top of the mountain. THe gondola between the bases is very convenient and provides a lot of flexibility for skiing.

Stowe - classic VT ski mountain
Posted on 01/08/2009 by: Jeff D.

Stowe is by far my favorite ski resort in VT..the views are amazing.. and always have plenty of DEEP snow. plenty of steeps, glades, and a wide variety of terrain. Plus no problems with crowds that southern VT ski resorts experience. If you have never been to Stowe.. Definitely head up there. you won't be disappointed.

My favorite place!

I learned to snowboard at Stowe and I absolutely love it here. The conditions are always beautiful and there is nothing quite like the trails and park. Multiple mountain peeks and lifts provide quick delivery to all parts of the mountain, where the view of the surrounding Green Mountain range is astonishing. I have always had good experiences at the lodge, the rentals, pretty much everything at Stowe seems to add up to the perfect time for beginers to experts. Good for toddler to senior. I love it at Stowe. I have been snowboarding hundreds of times, and most of them have been here. I know the mountain and you probably will want to as well.
