About Camden Snow Bowl

The Camden Snow Bowl is a 70+ year old municipal winter recreation area on the coast of Maine. It is the kind of place where youngsters are dropped off by their parents to ski with friends after school, evenings and weekends; on fair mornings there is always of friendly group of retirees meeting for breakfast and enjoying the well groomed slopes with an unparalleled view of Penobscot Bay; and midday you will usually find a local school group taking lessons. The Snow Bowl was established in 1936 and is the home of the annual U.S. National Toboggan Championship races, held the first weekend each February. In addition to skiing and the Toboggan Chute there is a two lane Tubing Hill, a Skating Rink on the pond, and a Cross Country Ski Trail.

What's New This Season at Camden Snow Bowl

We plan to cut another section of glade that will begin just below the top of the chairlift and join up with the two lower sections of the glade that were cut in the last few years. This one will be the most challenging yet, steeper and narrower than the others. It should provide a real sweet, heart pounding drop through the trees when we get lucky with those big coastal snow storms. Another big project this fall is the extension of the Terrain Park into the woods above the existing Park on Half Hitch, and a new diagonal trail that joins lower Mussel Ridge with the top of Foxy. Anyone heading from Mussel Ridge over to Foxy will no longer have to ski uphill on the traverse to get there. Snowboarders and racers will be especially happy about this improvement.
