About Sun Peaks

Sun Peaks Resort is located on what was formerly known as the Mt. Tod ski area, approximately 360 kilometres north of Vancouver, British Columbia. In April 1992, Tod Mountain was purchased by Nippon Cable Co. Ltd., of Tokyo, Japan, transforming the ski area (renamed Sun Peaks Resort) into a modern, four-season mountain community.

Phase 2 developments at Sun Peaks have begun in the East Village, and soon to have one more mountain which will bring the area to a total of four mountains, in addition to a recreation centre, a second village area including over 1,000 new dwelling units distributed amongst seven hotels, nine townhouse developments and 140 single family homes.

To date, total investment in the Sun Peaks Resort has exceeded CDN $400 million, a very significant figure for the total building activity in the Thompson-Nicola Valley Regional District. The mountain resort continues to expand and now boasts a seasonal population of 250 residents and over 5,000 tourist beds.
