About Hunter Mountain
Hunter Mountain is a four-season resort located just over two hours from the NY metropolitan area. The focal point of the resort is the the ski and snowboard mountain itself, boasting a 1,600 foot vertical drop.
Hunter has always be an industry leader. We take credit for the idea of a flexible tiller for grooming, which has vastly improved snow surfaces around the world. We're proud to have hosted world cup pro races in the past, and we continue to host high caliber events like the NorAm SuperSeries.
Hunter Mountain, like any other resort, has grown in stages over the years. Our most recent expansion was also our largest. The Kaatskill Mountain Club, our landmark hotel located slopeside, opened in August 2005.
