not best for beginners
Posted on 01/15/2009 by: Anonymous

I am a beginning snowboarder and I went to Catamount specifically for the number of green trails i saw on the trail map. They have a lot more easy trails that other small mountains.I found that most of the green trails were too narrow for me to comfortably maneuver and some had a drop off on one side.Granted there was a netting but i felt i was going to lose control, crash through the netting and end up in the creek at the bottom of the drop off. Also most of the green trails had long stretches that were totally flat . As a beginner i didn't have enough momentum to propel me so i found the flat sections frustrating . The bunny hill in the learning area was too short to get in more than 2 turns. In summary i don't think this mountain is the ideal spot for beginners.
